- Pathe synopsis: Perfect scale models of ships are not all that uncommon - you can see them in many museums: but the model ships made by dental mechanic Dennis Greenslade, of Torquay, although accurate enough for any museum, are really built to perfection - and to prove it, he puts his powered models through their paces on a nearby pond.
SHOTLIST: (Torquay). LS small boy casting fishing line out to lake. CU boy fishing. MS launch on water. MS CS Mr Greenslade working on the scale model. BCU prow of the ship with Mr Greenslade’s hands in the picture carving piece of wood. LS Greenslade working on the boat, he picks up an accumulator and starts to place it in the boat. CU as the accumulator is laid in the bottom of the boat and small wire is attached to it. LS of him picking up the top of the boat and closing it up. CU of the boat as little adjustments are made. CU of the boat. MS of another little boat complete on table. CU of the funnel and the top deck. CU another part of the boat, showing the little lifeboat. MS prow of the boat, pan down to show the name which says Laird’s Loch. MS Mr Greenslade and friend as they approach the edge of a pond with one of the boats. MS Krond Princess Ingrid, he places it at the side of Laird’s Loch, they then go over to the Loch. MS the two men tinkering with the Krond Princess boat. CU Mr Greenslade. MS the two men tinkering with the boat. CU the funnel as smoke producing tablet is placed inside. MS the two men. They pick up the boat and place it on the pond. LS as the boat pulls away from shore, there is a little crowd of onlookers as the boat goes off into the middle of the pond. MS boat going along. CU three little boys looking on. LS boat going along. CU two little girl onlookers. LS boat going along. LS boat going away from camera and up to shore. Mr Greenslade bends down to retrieve it. LS boat reaches the side. CU boy onlooker. LS as the boat is pushed out again. MS little boy putting sailing boat onto pond. MS boat going along, camera pans with it, it hits the little boy’s sailing boat knocking it out of the way. CU Mr Greenslade. MS the boat going along. LS the boat going back towards the side, and Mr Greenslade retrieving it. - Keywords
