- Pathe synopsis: ‘The rose red city half as old as time’ of Biblical days. Here lived civilisation’s most sophisticated cavemen who carved a whole dynasty of palaces, temples from the rich red sandstone cliffs. Greeks, Romans and Crusaders left their marks here but now the great amphitheatre is a silent weathered monument facing across the Jordan desert.
