MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New Weapons. DESCRIPTION: The new British seventeen pounder gun is designed for attacking heavy German tanks. The American ‘Bazooka’ has been revealed at last, it too is an anti-tank weapon. The latest American plane is the ‘Helicast’ which has folding wings for storage aboard. SHOTLIST: Cut story - AFU - GS of 17 pounder, pan from muzzle to breech, shells being loaded, range found, & several shots of gun being fired, which caused much dust. AFU. GS of American soldier about to fire a Bazooka, GS of loading, held like a rifle. GS firing a stack of sandbags, & hitting same, also firing at moving tank, again hitting same. Finally GS of Americans unfolding wings of latest fighter ‘Hellcat’. CU Propeller & engine starting, GS of take off. Various shots of flight at high speed, cut-ins of crowds lying on ground watching performances, GS of three in line, flying into camera. GS of pilot in cockpit before TO. Hellcat flying low over airfield.
