MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Gallantry Rewarded. DESCRIPTION: The Red Fort near Delhi is the scene for the presentation of two more VC’s. The widow of Company Havildar-Major Chhelu Ram received his medal from the Viceroy. The other recipient was Jamadar Gajer Ghale of the 5th Royal Gurkha Rifles. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Crowds in grounds with fort in background. General Wavell inspects Indian Guard of Honour. CU widow of CHM Chhelu Ram. CU Jamadar Ghale. Both of the above received VC’s. MS Air Marshal Sir R Pierse seated. Widow being handed the VC by Wavell. CU Widow. Wavell presenting VC to Jamadar Ghale, they each salute. Crowds gather round after ceremony to congratulate Jamadar Ghale, amongst them being General Auchinleck.
