Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: "Fifth & Eight" Fighting Forward. DESCRIPTION: New film from Italy includes reinforcements landing at Anzio. On the Cassino front Piedmont is shelled by Polish forces. Along "Highway Six" British troops capture Aquino. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. British troops disembark at Anzio. Various shots of disembarking troops walk along gangway laid over capsized ship in harbour, various angles. AFU. Patrol march along road. Littoria signpost, troops out of camera, Reccy car drives up, several soldiers hold up Nazi flag, more shots of troops marching single file each side of road. LS Piedmont, Polish troops shelling. Captain leads Poles along ruined street. Polish soldier gives cover with Tommy gun. Troops take prisoner from dugout. Patrols through Aquino, running over rubble, sniping & running through smoke screen. Mines being cleared. Prisoners German Paratroopers, enter cages. Shot of them walking along road through Anzio. March towards LST. Shot from inside LST, silhouettes of German prisoners entering same, GV from beaches of them entering LST (Open bow type).
