Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Raid on Dresden - Night and Day. DESCRIPTION: Flying Forts of the 8th American Army Air Force were on their way to Dresden, as a follow up for the night raid which had been carried out by the RAF. When the Royal Air Force went to Dresden on the night of 13th/14th February, their force consisted of more than eight hundred Lancasters and other heavy bombers. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Various aerials of Flying Fortresses in formation - leaving many condensation trails - shots from all angles. Over Dresden in daylight, 500lb bombs falling - smoking city - formations over clouds. Various shots of Dresden from the air. Back in England Lancasters take off. Over target covered completely by cloud - night shots of city fires raging, inferno, various shots of city burning.
