Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Pacific - the Latest. DESCRIPTION: The war in the Pacific is still very fierce and Japanese pilots have the habit of pressing home their attacks with suicide dives. The struggle for Okinawa is ferocious, American forces are advancing towards the capital Naha. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Various shots of Jap planes attacking American ships in the Pacific. Jap planes crash into sea. One Jap plane dives directly onto an ammunition ship, shots of same exploding. On Okinawa, Americans crawl forward over fields, fight in jungle, clear out Jap foxholes, throw hand grenades into same. Okinawa inhabitants brought into our lines, fed by the Americans & cared for. Soldiers carry children in their arms. American shoots at Jap as he runs towards him, Jap falls dead on ground.
