- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Fog Investigation Dispersal Operations. DESCRIPTION: Fog Intensive Dispersal Ops or FIDO for short was developed to clear fog for take-off and landing of bombers and air support. FIDO operated by day or night to keep airfields open. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. "Fido" with sketch of dog underneath same. Petrol runs through channel to light, petrol ignites along burners running parallel with runway. Various shots of burners alight, black smoke off same. Aerial shots of "Fido" burning on clear day, shot from plane circling round to land on aerodrome. Lancasters land, pictures hazy owing to intensive heat. Thick mist over aerodrome, Fido alight & planes landing. Geoffrey Lloyd & Air Vice Marshal Bennett. Both walk into camera. Shake hands with crew of a plane, AVM Bennett says "Fido" has served many airmen. Cut-in of crews, pan of same. Geoffrey Lloyd says "Mr Churchill has helped us in making Fido".
