- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: King Meets President Truman Aboard "Renown". DESCRIPTION: His Majesty and President Truman had a brief meeting off Plymouth. They exchanged visits aboard HMS "Renown" and USS "Augusta". SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Royal launch leaving Plymouth. Various shots of launch approaching "Renown". CU King in launch. King boards battleship, piped aboard. Lord Halifax follows. Launch with Mr Truman aboard, Truman boards "Renown" followed by Mr Byrnes, stand still while US National Anthem is played. Truman inspects Marine Guard of Honour on deck. Various shots of King, Truman & Byrnes, including close-ups walking along deck of ship. Truman leaves "Renown", down gangway, GV "Augusta"; launch en route. King aboard the USS "Augusta" greeted by Truman, shakes hands as on board "Renown". King (CU back view, saluting) on bridge of "Renown", USS "Augusta" sails past, various shots of "Augusta" & "Renown" good stock shots.
