MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: King Opens Ladybower Reservoir - No Film. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV of reservoir. Various shots taken all angles of reservoir. King & Queen arrive by car. K&Q tour reservoir. GV of village of Ashopton being pulled down. King plants oak tree, filling hole with earth. Also unveils memorial. Their Majesties are accompanied by Sir Albert Atkey. King unlocking Embankment gates. Copper cylinder containing newspapers, etc. cemented in place & huge stone placed over same. Touring the reservoir. King opens valve which lets water flow into reservoir, various shots of same rushing in. CU fast flowing water. Crowds look on.
