MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: British Troops Evacuate Citadel. DESCRIPTION: The Citadel in Cairo has been handed back to the Egyptians, the British flag which has flown over it since 1882 was lowered for the last time. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Egyptian troops enter Citadel, pan down to Union Jack. GV citadel. Egyptian troops led by band enter citadel. British troops enter citadel - Highland Light Infantry. Chief of Egyptian General Staff arrives, alights from car; Ferik Ibrahim Attalah Pasha. Lieutenant General Sir Charles Allfrey alights from open car. CU of him saluting, also Egyptian officers saluting as Union Jack is lowered, cut-in troops presenting arms. Union Jack being lowered.
