- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Foot-The-Ball Contest. DESCRIPTION: Oxford v Cambridge in a unique game of football, played in nineteenth century costume with three balls. SHOTLIST: KS Group of Oxford team and graduates in nineteenth century attire wait in street. Several shots of Oxford team. Cambridge team arrive on ‘buggy’ greeted by Oxford team. One arrives on penny farthing bicycle. Teams run onto field. Groups have photographs taken. MS model antique camera. GV ceremonial kick off (three balls). Various shots of game in progress (teams walking). Beer machine brought onto pitch at half time. SCU player drinking. Fellow rides round pitch on penny farthing. Various shots of game again in progress, this time they are allowed to run. Finish on shot of one player raising his hat as he approaches the goal. All the above players are in Victorian dress.
