Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Honeymooners Attend Romsey Abbey. DESCRIPTION: Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh attend Sunday morning service at Romsey Abbey. The couple have been staying at Lord Mountbatten’s home, Broadlands, and happily posed for the cameras in its grounds. SHOTLIST: KS Tilt down Romsey Abbey, to entrance, where crowds await Royal couple. Various shots of crowds, climbing on every vantage point, including tomb stones, trees etc. Royal car through crowds. Canon Corban (the vicar of Romsey), receives Princess Elizabeth and Duke of Edinburgh. Enter church. Royal couple leave. Canon shakes hands with them, they enter car. Cut-ins of more crowds climbing over tombstones etc. Car drives off. Fade to Broadlands, Lord Mountbatten’s country home, where they are staying. Couple walk out into grounds with their dog (a corgi), shots walking through grounds, kicking the leaves. Seated on seat, looking at photographs of their wedding. CU Princess’s wedding and engagement rings. Couple return and walk up steps towards house, wave to camera as they pass.
