Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Shinwell Inspects British Troops. DESCRIPTION: The C-in-C, the High Commissioner, General de Lattre de Tassigny and Mr Shinwell watch the huge parade of the Allied Forces at Sennelager, in Germany. Many well-known regiments were represented including the Black Watch and the Desert Rats. SHOTLIST: KS. Troops paraded. Shinwell with C-in-C BAOR inspects troops from Britain, USA, France, Belgium & Norway. He inspects them from Land Rover. Various shots marchpast including the Black Watch. US troops, French troops. Cut-in Shinwell. Mechanised units, with Bren carriers, etc. 25 pounder field guns, rolled past. Cut-in Russian officers watching. US heavy tanks passing, & RAF "Transport Hastings" pass overhead. Desert Rats march past, (7th Armoured Division) with Vampires of RAF roaring overhead.
