Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Freebooter Receives Civic Reception. DESCRIPTION: Freebooter, this year’s Grand National winner, naturally got a magnificent welcome from Yorkshire folk at Ripon and the ancient market-place was so crowded that Jimmy Power, his jockey, is reported to have said it was more nerve-racking than the race itself. SHOTLIST: KS. CU horse’s head. Elevated GV crowds in market place, with horse-box in centre. MS Freebooter amid crowd with jockey up, being ridden round place. At Bishop Monkton, Mrs Brotherton leads horses towards camera. SCU of horse. MS & SCU Jimmy Power, the jockey with Freebooter in stable in background, the former speaking about the running of the Grand National.
