MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Mechanical Innovations for Industry. DESCRIPTION: A 90 Brake-horse-power Diesel provides the motive power for a novel form of transport. A single rail guides the train which runs on an easily constructed road only three foot wide. From Germany, a gigantic shovel-cum-loader, capable of dealing with 20,000 tons of open-cast coal a day. It needs only three men to operate the machine. SHOTLIST: Cut story - At Mayfield, Sussex, various shots of Brake Horse Power Diesel train. Various shots of same, taken from all angles. Train passing along one track line, into camera, passes over points. Shots of the engine & designer. Shot of the tyres (pneumatic). In Germany, various shots of huge shovel-cum-loader, in operation.
