MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Oxford Win Varsity Rugby Clash. DESCRIPTION: Twickenham was packed, as usual, for the ‘Varsity’ Rugger match (this one being the 70th in the series) and the spectators saw Oxford beat Cambridge by 13 points to nil on a pitch which was more like a skating rink than a rugby field. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Oxford & Cambridge teams run onto field. Crowd shots. Cambridge (in stripes) kick off. Ground covered with frost. Oxford with ball players slip & slide. Oxford score try No 13 - Bullard. Fails to convert. Preceded by good 3/4 run by Cambridge. Spectators cheering. Crowd shot - half-time. Brewer runs through & scores try. Converted by Bullard. General play. Oxford pressing nearly score. Oxford attack & Wydell scores. Converted by Bullard. Final score Oxford 13 v. Cambridge 0.
