Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Maundy Service. DESCRIPTION: When the Queen went to Westminster Abbey to distribute the Royal Maundy, she was accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh. The ceremony was the first public engagement of her reign. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. MS Abbey. Crowds outside abbey. Car arrives, Queen & Duke, in morning dress, get out. Greeted by Dean of Westminster, Party enters Abbey. CU George & Dragon on radiator of Queen’s car, pans to Royal Standard on top of car. GV Abbey with crowds in fore, shots of some of the recipients, old people. Queen & Duke leaving, enter car, SCU of them as they drive off. Good scenes - Exterior - GVs & looking up side of front entrance, of the Westminster Abbey.
