MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Invasion Exercises. DESCRIPTION: The peace-time D-Day on the South Coast was not only a realistic exercise - it was also the biggest amphibious assault carried out in Britain since the war. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Across sea. Amphibious craft approaches shore. Beaching, tanks up beach, tanks with mine-detectors attacked. Flame-throwers in action. Infantry rush up beach. Marines & Gloucesters off LCIs. 25 pounders being off-loaded from craft. CO. arrives by helicopter. Commandos land at Sandown, IOW, & scales cliffs, various shots of same. Casualty being lowered from cliff top.
