MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Edinburgh International Festival. DESCRIPTION: Looking lovely in its antiquity and venerable in its beauty, the city of Edinburgh stages its Sixth International Festival of Music and Drama. The opening ceremony was performed on the Castle Esplanade by the Duke of Edinburgh. SHOTLIST: TPS over Edinburgh. Crowd seated and then stand up. CU Crowd. Shots of the Duke of Edinburgh walking along. CU Duke making a speech - I hope that this year a greater number of people than ever before will partake in this rich peace, prepared for us by the city fathers. I am sure that none of us here will come to any harm if we overindulge in this sort of fair. Turns and sits down. International Tattoo in the evening. Shots of military band. MCU Duke saluting.
