Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Monsieur Mollet-Lacoste and Riots. DESCRIPTION: Algiers and a large motor cycle escort, indicating that trouble was expected during the French Premier’s visit. At the War Memorial, Monsieur Mollet first laid a wreath, this ceremony stirred up the feelings of the French population. They stormed through the Memorial gardens and destroyed the wreath. SHOTLIST: Monsieur Mollet arrives at Algiers on the Republic’s special plane. The arrival at Maison Blanche. Mr Mollet is greeted by Secretary General and others of Algeria. The afternoon the war veteran tries to lay a wreath on the War Memorial. Later in the evening Monsieur Lacoste gives a press conference.
