- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Brooklands Anniversary. DESCRIPTION: Brooklands: a quarter of a century ago - and now - a sorry sight for such men as Lord Brabazon who competed in the first meeting, and who now unveiled the memorial to the circuit, founded 50 years ago. Then on to the French Grand Prix near Rouen in Normandy. British drivers were among the leaders, unfortunately crashed, but we still had Peter Collins and Mike Hawthorn to take third and fourth place. First home were a Maserati and Juan Fangio. SHOTLIST: Various shots of Brooklands racing in it’s hay-day. Lord Brabazon unveiling memorial (1957). Slip pan to various scenes of the French Grand Prix near Rouen in Normandy. Peter Collins & Mike Hawthorn coming third & fourth with a Maserati (Juan Fangio) first.
