Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: A-Bomb Dropped. DESCRIPTION: An atom bomb accidentally dropped (from a height of nearly three miles) from an American B-47. The whole area was soon checked with geiger counters, but no trace of radio-active contamination was reported. It happened at Mars Bluff, a small village in South Carolina. The burst of the conventional high explosive shattered a farm house about a hundred yards from the crater. Several homes were damaged and six people were slightly injured. SHOTLIST: MS crater. Pan up to house. CU man checks material of radio activity. MS same. LS farm house damaged by bomb. Another shot same. This was an accident - a bomb accidentally dropped from height of 3 miles, farms damaged by explosion but not nuclear, bomb not primed.
