Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Chinese By Numbers (Inn of the Sixth Happiness Material). DESCRIPTION: Chinese passengers scrambled out of a Chinese train at a Chinese station. It certainly looked like that, but is was really in Hampshire - a scene for a film. The British Army had been called in to help, especially in railway matters. Many Chinese took part in the film, but there were not enough extras. Here again, the Army was able to help! SHOTLIST: GV train arrives at station. Closer same. MS Chinese extras leave train. Same. CU sign - Tientsin. MS extras watching. CU board ‘Longmoor Military Railway Workshops’. MS train. CU man paints Chinese sign. MS man sprays tracks. MS extras collect Coolie hats. CU Sergeant. GV men take off berets and put on chinese hats. CU sergeant. MS same adjusts hats. CU same. MS soldiers look on. CU sergeant. GV soldiers turn left. CU sergeant. GV soldiers marching. Same.
