- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Nehru Meets Dalai Lama. DESCRIPTION: Mussoorie, in the lower Himalayas, has long been one of India’s most famous hill-stations. The Prime Minister of India was on his way to welcome the Dalai Lama for Mussoorie had been chosen by the Government of India as the place of exile for the young god-king. Birla House is the residence placed at the disposal of the Dalai Lama and the meeting between the two leaders followed Tibetan custom: the exchange of white silk scarves.
