- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: A Tall Tale. DESCRIPTION: It’s a new flag-mast for Kew Gardens, seen being erected by the 23rd Field Squadron, Royal Engineers. Their presence maintains the military association with Kew, for where the mast is to stand on Victory Mound, a temple once stood, marking the famous British infantry victory of Minden, two hundred years ago. This new mast is a gift from British Columbia, shaped from a giant 300-year-old Douglas Fir. SHOTLIST: Army officer giving instructions through megaphone. GV mast. LS mast being lifted.
