Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Trouble in Panama. DESCRIPTION: In spite of Treaties and Agreements, Panama’s Independence Day was the signal for violent anti-American demonstrations. They mob wanted to force a way into the canal zone, leased to the United States, to plant the Panamanian flag there. Transit through the canal was not affected, but a good many people were hurt in the clash. SHOTLIST: MS soldiers pushing back rioters. MS same. LS rioters attacking. MS soldier throwing gas bomb. Pan soldiers playing hoses on the rioters. Pan van passing through hose stream. LS rioters running. Pan rioters being herded back by soldiers. Pan soldiers seeking cover.
