- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: M1 Mishaps. DESCRIPTION: Britain’s first motorway is proving a big attraction for drivers at the week-end. And, just as people once went to Croydon to see aeroplanes fly, so now M1 attracts the curious. They watch from bridges, and they travel in coaches on sight-seeing jaunts, during which break-down spotting must be quite a feature of their tour! As for the motorway itself, there’s been a spot of bother with the so-called hard shoulder at the side of the road. The hard shoulder seems to be soft, in places at any rate.
