- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Closing the Gate. DESCRIPTION: This was the scene at night on the East-West Berlin frontier, East Germans building up and strengthening the notorious prison wall, designed to keep the people in. And next morning, where the wall curves in a semi-circle in front of the Brandenburg Gate, work was still going on. In West Berlin, about 20,000 people, mostly youngsters and students, marched in a torchlight procession through the streets to protest against the prison wall. SHOTLIST: Key scene.
