- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Llandudno - Conservatives Confer. DESCRIPTION: With Realism, Responsibility and Progress as the watch words, the 4 days of the conference promised lively exchanges, but showed an encouraging measure of agreement on major issues. Among those present were Mr Maudling, Chancellor of the Exchequer; Party Chairman, Mr Macleod; First Secretary of State, Mr Butler; Sir Keith Joseph, the new Minister of Housing; and Mr Heath, Britain’s chief Common Market negotiator, who made a brilliant speech. A 20 to 1 vote in favour of Britain’s entry, a vote of confidence in the leadership of Mr Macmillan, was the result. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV building. MCU Mr Iain Macleod - Party Chairman.
