- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Falcons Free Fall. DESCRIPTION: First known as skydiving, but now more accurately named free fall. The RAF’s regular free-fall parachute team has been in existence since 1961 - for the last six years they’ve been a big attraction as The Falcons. Jumping at 12,000ft., they perform complicated tracking movements before pulling the ripcord at 2,000ft. Filmed by a camera attached to a Falcon’s crash helmet, these scenes look like an aerial ballet. In fact, the men - and the camera - are plummeting earthwards at over 130 mph.
