Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Killer Whale Missile Retriever. DESCRIPTION: Killer Whale, trained by US Navy Underwater Research Department to recover missiles and other objects from deep water. SHOTLIST: TS US Navy research launch. STV Morgan the killer whale comes up to feed from crewman’s hand. CU Morgan swimming along by boat, he blows jet from air hole. SV he comes up to take another fish from crewman. CU Morgan blows jet of water. SV torpedo being lowered from launch. SV ditto as it drops into sea. SV towards the man carrying harness for Morgan. CU killer whale. SCU putting harness on whale pan as he swims away. SV (2) underwater. Morgan swimming down toward torpedo, he places clamp round it and swims away. CU air bag on clamp being inflated by gas cartridge. CU torpedo starts to lift from sea bed. SV as it floats up. GV small boat waiting for torpedo to surface, air bag breaks surface. SCU airbag with torpedo attached floating on surface. SV crew of research launch preparing to pull torpedo aboard. CU Morgan being rewarded with fish.
