Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Wild Water Slalom. DESCRIPTION: The picturesque city of Monschau was the setting for an exciting sporting occasion, the rough and tumble of the International Wild Water Canoe Slalom. SHOTLIST: SV house pan to river. FV pan canoeist going through rapids and backwards through posts. SV pan canoeist through posts and past camera. LV pan canoe down slope and under bridge, 2 men in it. FV slow motion 1 man canoe through rapids. FV slow motion 1 man canoe. WA 1 man canoe turning over. Canoeist gets out and walks ashore. SV pan 2 man canoe past camera. SV upturned canoe with men trying to right it. SV 2 man canoe down slope and hit wooden barrier at 147’ but stay upright and move off but at 167’ they start going backwards and front man holds them on rock. SV pan upturned canoe with two men trying to get upright, the front man falls out of canoe but the second chap tries to right himself at 179’ but goes under again but at 186’ he rights himself by grabbing at a barrier.
