MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: World Hot Air Balloon Championships. DESCRIPTION: At Castle Howard in Yorkshire, Balloon buffs from twenty-three countries gathered for the World Hot Air Balloon Championships. This is the first time that this bi-annual event has been held outside the United States. It is almost 200 years since Frenchman Joseph Montgolfier stumbled on the idea of Hot Air flight and the age of aeronautics began. Members of the American team took the first three places in the Championship. SHOTLIST: MS basket being prepared. MS burner section being prepared. MS balloon unravelled. Various of same.
