- Summary
- COI synopsis: In spite of the complex controls of technology there are still areas where our control is lost - thousands of people die every year from disease, fire, accidents on the road. This issue highlights four areas where new developments are extending our control. Malaria claims more lives every year than any other disease; control is dependent on controlling its carrier, the mosquito. Detailed new research into the mating habits of the insect suggests how attempts at biological control can be made to work.
