- Summary
- COI synopsis: The Royal Horticultural Society was founded in 1804 to encourage horticulture in all its forms. Today the society has 65,000 members around the world. It also has its own 200 acre experimental garden at Wisley in the southern English countryside, which for more than 70 years has been a source of knowledge and inspiration. Maggie Palmer went along to find out how Wisley can help the private gardener in the whole range of practical gardening from exotic plants to basic food production, and from the use of acres of good land to a window box.
- Researcher Comments
- Includes an interview with Mr John Clayton, horticulturalist. NB: Information drawn from the Australian version. ‘London Line, No. 548’ ran the same story.
