British Pathe synopsis: Introductory intertitle reads: "Memories of Nelson - the old "George" room where he dined, and the narrow cobbled way he trod before leaving for his last battle." Low angle shot of the first floor windows of the George Hotel. Lots of girls lean out of the windows. L/S of the girls climbing aboard a bus or truck. "And the pride of Southsea and Portsmouth - the Victory herself, in all her glory." L/S of girls standing and admiring the Victory. The girls walk towards the boat. The girls walk up the gangplank. "No wonder Navy week is popular - with the Navy as well as the ladies - !" Top shot of the girls being shown around and pulling on a rope, they look up at the camera. Two beauties stand on deck looking out (as if) to sea. "With such attractive pupils and so much to explain, the Silent Service remains silent no longer! " A Naval Officer talks to the girls, pointing to various parts of the ship. Various views of the masts, cannon and the plaque which marks the spot where Nelson fell. Miss Lilian Davies is one of the visitors, she talks to the Naval Officer. "And everywhere the Navy went - The girls were sure to go!" The girls clamber all over the boat. They point over the side of the boat and laugh. "Today, our great steel ships are gaunt and ugly, but in the days of the Victory, they took pride in beautifying their wooden walls." C/U of the helm of the ship with the name painted under small windows. Other views of the ship to show ornate details. L/S of the boat in port. - Keywords
