- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: ARMISTICE DAY - 1930. DESCRIPTION: Sub 1. In the morning of the Day of Remembrance thoughts and footsteps turn towards Whitehall. Sub 2. The Service at the Cenotaph is attended again this year by His Majesty The King. Sub 3. One thought throughout - the hushed multitude, of these who died - and friends and relatives among the dead. Sub 4. Blow out, you bugles over the rich dead. These laid the World away - and those who would have been their sons, they gave, their immortality (Rupert Brooke). Sub 5. Reveille - and we turn to another year of peace, pledged to Remember. SHOTLIST: Crowd in street. Pan shot down from top of Big Ben, to crowd in streets below. Elevated shot of the Cenotaph and clergy filing to same. The King arrives and places wreath. Other wreaths are placed. Elevated shot of the scene during the silence. CU Big Ben striking 11. Shot of the side of the Cenotaph with ‘Our Glorious Dead’. Ground level scenes of the silence with everybody including mounted police still. Crowds standing still. Elevated shot of the scene as the guns fire. Men replace their hats. Elevated shot of the scenes. Pan shot around the base of the Cenotaph. Shots of the Royalty etc. as ‘O God our Help’ is sung. Close shots of the flags flying at Cenotaph.
