- Summary
- NoS Summary - routines from the show "Victoria Vanities" at the Victoria Palace in London, starring Laurie Devine.
NoS synopsis: ""Beauties and the Beast." - a jocular contrast, with the English Dancing Beauties and "Odeon."" The English Dancing Beauties wear feathered hats and short costumes. "Odeon" is a man in a pigs outfit wearing a chefs hat and apron. Odeon and the girls do a dance. Odeon flaps his ears and wiggles his nose. The girls do some box steps and knee lifts. "The Super Grotesque - the Amorous Turk "falls" for the Dancer. (Laurie Devine)." A huge inflatable Turkish man smokes a hookah whilst Laurie dances on top of it. The Turk’s ears wiggle and his eyes boggle at the sight of Laurie’s sexy dance. We then see "The Birth of Mauve - by the Albertina Rasch Girls." A line of chorus girls dressed in ballet tutus and walking on their points moves across the stage. They do a high kick routine. Low angle shot shows off their legs. - Keywords
