Summary

NoS synopsis: ""The Midway Rhythm is slower than the quick-step, but faster than the slow foxtrot," explains Santos Casani, "and is a graceful addition to dancing."" Santos and Jose dance in a drawing room setting - probably in the Pathe Studio. There is a pianist and other couples sit and watch the dance. "The walk -" C/U of their feet as they demonstrate "The Walk". "A novel angle, showing the man’s steps -" We are then shown an "under the floor shot" as the couple dance on a glass floor. "Now, the lady’s as well - detailing the exact action -" We then see both Santos and Casani dancing on the glass floor from below. "The Right-hand turn follows the walk, starting with the right foot. It is performed in six movements, taking up two bars of music." The Right-hand turn is demonstrated. "Now for the "lift"." Then the "lift" is shown. "- and on glass." We then see the movements shot from under glass. ""The left pivot turn is the next step to learn, "explained Santos Casani." The left pivot turn is shown, "The side drag, a step made in line of dance -" then the side drag. "Finally, the glide, very similar to the walk, but done diagonally." The diagonal glide is demonstrated. ""Don’t forget, dance on the ball of your foot, transfer your weight from one leg to another, and hold your body naturally slack."" L/S of the salon setting where four couples dance.
