- NoS synopsis: "Certain Medical quarters are beginning to consider seriously whether Eve, in her new-found freedom is not taking up athletics too strenuously." A group of teenage girls sit around on a sports field. They were shorts and sports shirts, some of them have numbers attached to their shirts. Dissolve into another group of girls lazing around on the sports field. "Competitive running, nowadays, with every muscle strained to the utmost, becomes more arduous every year." M/S of the start of a running race. Gun is fired and the girls set off. Various shots of the race. "Hurdles, too, make the running harder - " Camera follows some girls hurdling. "At one time the discus thrower was a man, but today..." M/S of girl throwing a discus. "Slow-motion adds its grace, but doesn’t reduce the intense strain - " Slow motion footage of the woman throwing the discus. "The high jump, too, is another example of great momentary effort." M/S of woman performing high jump. "Slow-motion shows the muscle action - " Slow motion footage of the same. "And the long jump - every day in every way, Eve gets nearer that 20 ft mark ..." Slow motion footage of woman performing long jump. "The Javelin thrower is yet a further example of Eve’s physical energy - and matchless grace." M/S of woman throwing javelin. We then see her throw javelin in slow motion.
