- NoS synopsis: Gravesend, Kent. "Grandmamma would need her smelling salts still more to get over the shock if she could only see the hard-running sporting Eve of today." M/S of a group of people sitting at the edge of a sports field watching the athletics. M/S of a girls running race. "Girls never ran like this in her day, poor dear!" Various shots of a relay race. Shots of a sprinting race. All the races have female only competitors. "Grandma might raise a smile when she saw Adam striding out so funnily." M/S of two men in a walking race. "But, Eve looks just as queer." Woman in walking race. "The only folk who haven’t changed much are the kiddies." M/Ss of children’s running races - first the girls and then the boys.
