NoS Summary - Beckenham women’s team playing cricket and a debate in the intertitles.
British Pathe synopsis: "Recently there has been a lot of discussion in the Press regarding Eve trying her hand at cricket -" Various shots of women walking out onto the cricket field, spectators, a women’s match in progress, etc. The match is taking place on a large village green. "One School of Thought believes emphatically that it is most unsuitable for her - but what’s wrong with this?" M/S of woman taking a shot. M/S of spectators, most sitting on the grass. Large crowd. "Cricket", they say "is dangerous for woman..." (So was rifle shooting until Miss Foster won the King’s Prize.)" Another shot of women playing cricket. "Eve will never learn how to bowl" they say. Won’t she...!" Various shots of women bowling and batting. Spectators applaud a shot. "Slow-motion, too, shows Eve’s grace to perfection." Slow motion footage of a game. "There are over a hundred ladies’ cricket teams in Britain - and every week they’re growing..." Shot of the game, women spectators in foreground.
