Summary
British Pathe Summary - Story about a new massage machine.
British Pathe synopsis: "Most of us know how valuable massage is for our limbs, but most of us also know what a tiring job it is - too!" Woman is given a massage by a physiotherapist on a sports field. He is massaging her thighs. M/S showing three other girls, "Nippies" wearing their Lyons Tea House uniforms. One of the girls gives her friend a shoulder massage. "Here’s a novel pneumatic massage machine, that envelops the patient like a diving suit, and massages the body by means of air impulses circulating through tubes in the suit." Woman in a swimsuit takes off her floral robe and climbs up onto a table. She lays back on the table and a beauty therapist zips her up in the strange contraption which looks more like a straitjacket than a diving suit! The arm sections are zipped up and the beauty therapist switches a switch. C/U of the machinery which drives the massage machine. Panning shot of the woman as the suit undulates ! "Incidentally, forty minutes of this "pneumakardion" will just about send you to sleep!" C/U of the woman sleeping.
