Summary
NoS synopsis: Shots of a lacrosse match. Some shots from behind the goal, most are travelling shots from high angle. M/S of the crowd watching - mostly women well wrapped up in hats and scarves. "Whether the game be in front of the goal or behind, the pace continues hot -" It looks like a tournament as another match is going on behind the match that Pathe are filming. The goalie saves a shot. "Don’t play this game if you are nervous of a knock or two -" One of the girls trips over. High angle of girls on the side watching, most wear berets - probably a school uniform. Shot of one of the teams relaxing on the side. "You won’t need rouge for colouring after this strenuous play - nature provides it free of charge." Referee starts a game (a "bully off?") Shots of the fast play. "Growing in popularity every year, and growing in speed, too, this game is drawing the most sporty of Eve’s under its spell." Various shots of a lacrosse match. "Students, like these from Queen Alexandra’s House, P.T. College, are thoroughly training for every phase of the game." Panning M/S of girls standing on the side of the pitch spectating. Girls run towards the camera practising throwing the ball to each other. "Slow-motion shows you the do’s and don’ts." Slow motion footage of the girls in training. "Catching at speed, tackling - each stage is taken." Footage of training exercises. M/S of group of the girls sitting on a fence watching. Girls practice catching the ball. Slow motion footage of one of the girls jumping and catching the balls. Tackling techniques are shown too, in slow motion and real speed. "The goalie, too, has her tense moments." Shot from behind the goalie as she saves some shots. "Eve’s fastest game on grass." Shot of a game - the girls wear gymslips.
