Story

Summary
President Roosevelt makes his first public appearance since his re-election, when he attends Armistice Day ceremony. In his speech he says that he does not believe that the era of democracy in human affairs can or ever will be snuffed out in our lifetime, or that the world will revert either to a modern form of ancient slavery or to a control vested in modern feudalism. He does not believe however, that the very people under their iron heels will themselves rebel.
