A series of concerts from the Scottish Early Music Consort (director Warwick Edward). This Part 2 of the fourth concert features the works of Orlando Gibbons (1583-1625). By the age of twenty Gibbons was a gentleman of the Chapel Royal and by the end of his life he was not only senior organist there but also ‘one of his Majesty’s musicians for the virginals to attend in his highness’ privy chamber’ and organist of Westminster Abbey. This concert includes ‘Do not repine, fair sun’, ‘Lord Salisbury’s Pavan and Galliard’ and Keyboard Fantasia in C no.2.
