- Summary
- The battleship HMS Royal Sovereign together with four submarines, is handed over to the Soviet Navy as part of a lease-lend agreement. This ceremony actually took part a year ago at Rosyth but for security reasons film has only been released now. Admiral Purvis, Deputy First Sea Lord formally hands the ship over and the Soviet Ambassador receives it on behalf of Marshal Stalin.
