Summary
Pathe synopsis: Moscow - with its harlequin-coloured cathedrals and the Kremlin domes, pin-point this as a capital city of the entertainment world, politics quite apart. To learn this we go to school - to the unique Circus School where world stars like Popov, the clown, trained and graduated. We see the students in the classrooms, then as the other half of their curriculum, juggling, tumbling, walking the tight-rope. And giving their end-of-term performance, starring Leonid Jengibarov, who goes on to make his debut as chief clown in the latest season of the Moscow State Circus, the greatest show on earth, and no mistake. See him juggle and clown about and take off every staggering act presented, each of which adds the impossible to the improbable things we’ve got used to, in the past. And end this issue with Irena Bugrimova’s lions that walk the tight-rope and swing high up in the air in a manner that seems to sweep you off your feet.
