MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Britain Grows More & More (Britain’s Harvest, 1943). DESCRIPTION: 1943 will see another bumper harvest in Britain, good farming is now producing superb results in cereals and fruit, for instance. The automatic milker has aided the output of milk. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Various shots of farming, ploughing, reaping etc. Various shots panning farmland. Shots of orchard shows girls picking plums. CU of same also CU of basket of plums, others being thrown in. Girls gathering potatoes, prior to this weighing the plums. Various angle shots, into camera. "Suffolk Punches" cantering past stream. MS & CU of one classed as a champion. GS of turkeys at feeding time. Cows being led into building containing automatic milker, various shots of milking. GS of automatic cooling machine. Milk running through into churn. More shots of farm men working, building haystack, corn on conveyor coming up into camera CU. Various shots of farmhands being given beer by Lady Craig. Villagers & farmhands entering churchyard, various shots, bell ringing, finishes on various angle shots of church, & hymn "We Plough the Fields & Scatter" being sung.
